Australia’s most highly awarded food product is sold at a little shop behind the grower’s house in Tathra. Visitors are welcome during the season (usually from November to May) to call in and purchase some of these famous oysters direct from the growers.
Tathra Oysters have been judged Australia’s’ best on 33 separate occasions and are found on the menus of some of Australia’s’ most prestigious restaurants, including Rockpool Bar & Grill, Saint Peter, Bennelong, Café Sydney and Firedoor.
Many regulars to the far south coast now consider their holiday incomplete without the chance to savour these special oysters. When visiting the Rodely’s shop in Tathra, customers can select from four different grades of Tathra Oysters, shucked or unshucked. If travelling, the Rodelys offer complimentary ice and eskies.
