DAY ONE

BRUNCH: The Wharf Local

It’s a gentle and spectacular walk from the Tathra Headland down to the iconic heritage wharf.  The path follows the route of the old cliff-hugging highway that was washed away in the 1970s – it’s now the perfect place to look for whales or breathe in the great expanse of blue.

At The Wharf Local, soak up the sun as it streams in through the giant doors that give you views across the sparkling bay to Tathra Beach.  The unpretentious seaside stylishness of the Locavore, combined with a light and creative menu and excellent coffee, make this the perfect start for a romantic getaway.
The Wharf Local established in 2012 by the Benton sisters, exudes rustic charm and epitomises the low-key stylishness that Tathra does so well. Set inside the cargo shed of

The sophisticated menu features local produce in light and stylish dishes that you’ll fall in love with.

Your drive back to Tathra is dotted with options to explore art and spectacular scenery.  Meet local artists in their studios, follow a boardwalk to hear the musical Mimosa Rocks and make your own rock cairn art at Arugunnu, or take an adventurous path to the secluded beach and rocky headland at Moon Bay. There are side trips aplenty.
